Dangerous chimney

		This chimney stack had gradually been moving over the years. Whilst it was hard to visually detect any recent movement, everything pointed to an increasingly urgent situation. The ridge tile had been pushed out of position, the gable end wall had a significant 'belly', coupled with the alarming lean angle of the stack. The final worrying development was the telephone cable snapping...

		There was very little holding the stack in place...

		With the top of the flue system stabilised, work could start on rebuilding...

		With all flues redundant and the majority of salvaged bricks in poor condition, I decided not to rebuild the structure...
